The emergence of University of Abhidhamma
The first conference of Theravada Buddhist Universities across the world was held at Popa, in Myanmar, from 9th to 11th of March in 2007. At that conference, representatives from the other Theravāda countries suggested and requested to establish a University of Abhidhamma in Myanmar.
On 20-6-2007, The International Institute of Abhidhamma was founded according to the guiding admonishing of the Sitagū Sayadaw.
